Starting with the example of the "finished product" to inform the process, I work through the standard steps required to hang and artwork.&nbsp;This video sequence&nbsp;was planned as a perfect loop, where the first clip is cut from the last in the timeline. This is a dramatization of the daily task of closing the museum at the end of the day. A very fun, satisfying, tactile movement is toggling the second floor hallway lights off. There's nothing special about them, but seeing the hallway darken from one end to the other in steps is cinematic. I started there, and made a light narrative using the basement's&nbsp;dramatic lighting condition, where we have to wait for the elevator in the dark. The red glow in this deep dark space has always been haunting, and the elevator disrupts that space with its horrible sounds. Viewing historical photos in the plant office, experiencing the architecture of industry, and having academic discussions parallel to that was inspiring. The architecture of industry can be a vast space without scale. Using the image of a person to describe these monuments is perhaps the most impactful measure.&nbsp; The human aspect of this project is personal. Having the opportunity to work alongside my father in such an environment, allowed me to understand the effort he makes to provide for his family. It also allowed me to know other great men working at General Mills, some of whom have or make family of their coworkers. The massive collection of the UWF Historic Trust is made up of hundreds of thousands of individual objects. The idea to display a selection of the smallest of them came from the curiosity the staff experienced opening the “small objects drawers” in the collection storage area. We wanted to bring a bit of that wonder and density of objects to the visitors. As an off-hand idea, it grew into a logistical circus. More objects meant more cases, and more mounts. As we developed the idea, we looked to our own homes’ curiosity cabinets, IKEA’s Billy Bookcase. Using the modular design as a structure, we were able to make use of the grid of sections in a delightful way. Each shelf was treated as its own case, getting a group of objects, graphics, and sometimes a group mounting solution.&nbsp; <img width="6000" height="4000" width_o="6000" height_o="4000" worked to produce an Exhibition Identity for the Pensacola Museum of Art’s Annual Member’s Show. The designers for the project were Benjamin Nguyen and Lalita Estrada, University of West Florida Graphic Design majors. The exhibition identity consisted of a dual-color system, based around a goal of creating a large-scale lenticular print for the exhibition title graphic. Developing solutions on how a makerspace could integrate into the UWF Art and Design Department’s cirriculum was a personal goal. Investing in developing processes for facilitating whole-class projects was primary to the success SEA Makerspace achieved this year. Founded in 1954 as Pensacola Arts Center, the Pensacola Museum of Art has been a cherished institution for fine arts in the region for seventy years. The museum wanted to recognize this with an exhibition titled, Celebrate a History of Collecting. This idea grew to a year-long campaign to Celebrate 70 with a series of exhibitions, events, charitable donation drives, and a publication to enshrine the moment in its organizational history. EVOLVE was an exhibition of student ceramics work, and accomplished through a collaboration between the museum studies class and TAG. TAG Team Designer Parker Hassebrock designed an exhibition identity and environmental title wall installation. His work was accomlished with the help of SEA Makerspace’s laser engraver to cut colored acrylic sheets.
